Medicines Management in a Care Homes

A full day's work shop covering a little of everything you need to know about managing medicines within your care home. This training course in the safe handling of medicines is assessed and accredited and all delegates will receive a certificate that at the end of the course.

The course includes the following:-

  • Medicines policy
  • Ordering medicines
  • Emergency prescriptions
  • Receiving medication in to the home
  • Storage of medicines
  • Disposal of medicines
  • Administration of medicines
  • Management of controlled drugs
  • Recording medicines
  • Monitoring and supporting medicine use
  • Monitored dosage systems
  • Self administration of medicines
  • Medicine administration errors
  • Side effect of medicines
  • Consent, confidentiality, freedom of choice
  • Medicines in the Elderly (optional, can be replaced by medicines in mental illness etc. iff appropriate)

This course costs £45

Training sessions are run by a qualified pharmacist, at your premises and cost the appropriate fee per person (minimum of 10 people per session) plus travel expenses of 28p per mile.
