Attachment Trauma Training in-person or online
This training will help attendees with understanding what attachment trauma is and how it occurs, how it may present and how to help someone who has suffered attachment trauma.
A child’s trauma can influence how the person acts and behaves, by understanding the trauma, you can start to understand the person.
Course content
According to attachment theory, everyone will fit into one of four types of attachment. The attachment types the person currently fits into, can lead to different behaviours. Some of the behaviours can be a challenge to work with. In this 2.5 hour training session, we will have a look at how and why trauma might take place, how this might then go onto to change the brain and then look at attachment theory with a deep dive into each of the four attachment types.

Who is this course designed for?
This course is for anyone who works with children, young people or those in residential homes with complex needs e.g. autism. Nurses, carers, parents, managers and more can benefit from this training.

Course duration
Two and a half hours with a short break. This course can be combined with our PACE awareness training to be a full day.
Course outcome
After completeing the course, delegates will have a thorough understanding of the different types of attachment and how trauma can lead to one of the attachment types depending on the trauma experienced. The delegates will also be able to differentiate behaviours displayed in each attachment type and be able to work with that young person on becoming more secure in their attachment type, leading to less negative behaviours.

Attachment trauma training is available as an in-person or online (via Zoom or Teams) course. The course content can be tailored to match the needs of specific policies and procedures.
