Bullying Awareness Training in-person or online

This course aims to give you a good understanding of what bullying is, why someone might bully and what happens when someone is bullied. By looking at it from both the bullied and the bully’s perspective, we aim to look at bullying from a different angle, giving a better picture of why it happens and how to tackle it.

Course content

Everyone has needs, and there are six needs that must be met, for humans to be able to function properly. Bullying is often a catalyst for meeting at least some of these needs.What is bullying and some statistics

Who is this course designed for?

This course is for anyone who works with children, young people or those in residential homes with complex needs e.g. autism. Nurses, carers, parents, managers and more can benefit from this training.

Course duration

The Bullying Awareness Training course is a half day course. Please allow for a duration of 3 hours which includes a break.

Course outcome

After completing the training course, delegates will have a thorough understanding of what is bullying, and what it is like to experience bullying from both the victim and the bullies perspective. By looking at the 6 human needs, the delegates will better understand how certain behaviours meets needs, and therefore why some people bully, which allows delegates to work with the bully to meet their needs in a positive way. Finaly, the delegates wil be left with tools to help tackle bullying in their working/home environment.

Ways to study

Bullying awareness is available as an in-person or online (via Zoom or Teams) course. The course content can be tailored to match the needs of specific policies and procedures.
