Course content

Increasing your depth of knowledge with regards to anaphylaxis prevention, diagnosis and treatments in order to deliver this half day course to your team and be able to answer all of their questions with ease.

Anaphylaxis is an extreme and severe allergic reaction. It affects the entire body often within minutes of exposure to the allergen.

This practical training course is designed to accredit you to deliver training to improve awareness of anaphylaxis and the use of EpiPen and similar adrenaline autoinjectors, and the effective administration of adrenaline as an emergency response to an acute allergic reaction. The Trainer Training is delivered by a qualified professional with years of experience in the field.

The course will give participants an understanding of severe allergic reactions so that they know the difference between an intolerance and an allergy.

Participants will discover the variety of food and non-food sources of allergens that can cause anaphylaxis, understand the symptoms, treatments, effective prevention measures, what to do if faced with an anaphylaxis situation and how to use an auto-injector.

Who is this course designed for?

The Train the Trainer anaphylaxis and EpiPen training course is suitable for anyone who is involved in training their team in the importance of understanding allergies, and allergens and managing risk for clients. It is also for those who need to be aware of the diagnosis and treatment of anaphylactic reactions within any care environment, including care homes and clinics, nurseries, schools, colleges, and the general workplace and being able to sign the staff team off as competent to administer and adrenaline auto-injector such as Epipen

Course duration

Train the Trainer – Allergy and Anaphylaxis with Adrenaline Auto-Injector Competencies is a comprehensive one-day course. During the course, please allow for a duration of 8 hours, which includes lunch and breaks.

Course outcome

At the end of the course, participants will have learned how to deliver training about allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, its causes, what to look out for and how to react.

Practical training on how to use an injector device for adrenaline administration using training injectors in the classroom environment and competency assess to have the confidence to act in a real emergency situation.

Ways to study

This course is delivered face to face at our offices in Stoke-0n-Trent or at your premises for up to 12 trainers.
