The Enteral Feeding Training and Competency course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to competently undertake the care of a client requiring enteral feeding.

Course content

The CPD Standards Office-accredited course is designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology involved with Gastrostomy and Jejunostomy and the indications why people have enteral tubes.

The course content is practical and interactive, introducing participants to the range of equipment used, its safe handling and effective feeding methods.

Participants will improve/gain knowledge on how to administer enteral feed safely and in the correct manner.

Course duration

Enteral Feeding Training and Competency is a full-day course. Please allow for a duration of eight hours, which includes lunch and breaks.

Course outcome

At the end of the course, participants will feel confident in their skills to prepare the equipment and environment, and administer enteral feeding in accordance with clinical guidelines and safe practice.

Participants will understand how best to support clients in the appropriate way to avoid distress and handle real-time problems.

Ways to study

The Enteral Feeding Training and Competency course is a face-to-face course with practical elements and competency assessments undertaken on a mannequin.

The theory portion of this course can be offered online via Teams or Zoom, practical elements and competency assessments must be conducted face-to-face.

This training course is £950 + VAT and travel where applicable for up to 12 participants.
