This two-day Train the Trainer programme equips your team to confidently deliver Anti-Ligature Awareness training in-house. It can be tailored to your service to make it a bespoke session, completely aligned with your team. Delegates will learn:

  • Understanding risk: suicide, self-harm, ligatures, and high-risk environments.

  • Identifying dangers: what can be used as a ligature, common and hidden ligature points.

  • Emergency response: recognising signs, first-on-scene priorities, safe ligature removal, airway management, breathing checks, CPR and spinal-injury considerations.

  • Using ligature cutters: safe techniques and supervised practical assessment.

  • Post-incident actions: scene preservation, accurate incident reporting, and risk-mitigation strategies.

  • Trainer skills: how to deliver content effectively, lead group exercises, manage a room, assess learners and build confidence in others.
